Russian Choral Music

Russian Choral Music, released in 1951, is an album dedicated to the folk traditions of Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, and the Caucasus. The choir, Byzantine Orthodox Church Women’s/Men’s Choruses, harmonize together, using their lilting voices to carry the listener through the album as traditional folk songs are shared with the masses. Russian choral music makes use of only a few chords, creating a distinct sound that can be easily recognized once it is learned. The liner notes provide background and lyrics in English.
