15 Louisiana Cajun Classics
Various Artists

Arhoolie Records was the first major label to record and sell Cajun music on a national level. Among the many Cajun musicians and bands it recorded were the legendary Hackberry Ramblers, Michael Doucet with his band Beausoliel, and, as solo performers, Nathan Abshire, Dewey Balfa, Marc Savoy, and Canray Fontenot. This collection is part of Arhoolie’s “American Masters” series and serves as an excellent introduction to classic and contemporary Cajun music.
