Virtuoso Five-String Banjo

Previously heard only at "school pageants and parties," Barry Hall of Vancouver, British Columbia brings his genre-spanning banjo talents to Folkways on what appears to have been his only recording. Hall comfortably tackles mountain music, baroque pieces, and a Gershwin tune, sometimes adding soft vocals but always letting his picking take center stage. Liner notes contain a short bio of Hall with photos and brief descriptions of each track.
