Everhart Alive at Avoca

Bob Everhart
Everhart Alive at Avoca

During the 1970s and ‘80s, singer-guitarist Bob Everhart was an untiring advocate of traditional country music, recording six albums of country songs for Folkways Records. On this live performance from the 9th Annual Old-Time Country Music Contest and Festival in Avoca, Iowa, Everhart is backed by the Bluegrass Playground. He also performs two instrumental numbers on harmonica: the classic Gershwin song “Summertime” and the folk hymn “Amazing Grace.”

Liner notes written by Everhart accompany the recording.
