This 1965 radio documentary written by renowned author, historian, actor, and broadcaster Studs Terkel begins with a young victim of the Hiroshima bombing and weaves together excerpts of interviews Terkel conducted over the years with, for example, James Baldwin, Miriam Makeba, Simone de Beauvoir, Pete Seeger, and Arthur C. Clarke. The tapestry of voices was submitted as the official entry for the United States in the 14th annual Prix Italia competition.
