Cohorts & Collaborators

Cohorts & Collaborators is special celebration of the poetry of National Cowboy Poetry Gathering co-founder Waddie Mitchell. Across the album’s twelve tracks, Mitchell’s yarns and poems are turned into songs, performed by a slew of country and Western artists. Originally released by the Western Jubilee Recording Company, Cohorts... features selections from label familiars Sons and Brothers and first-time Western Jubilee contributors Jon Chandler, Juni Fisher, Brenn Hill, Trinity Seely, Dave Stamey, Dean Walden, and the Gillette Brothers. Complementing Mitchell’s exceptional talent and specific sensibilities as a poet of the American West, these musical adaptations of Mitchell’s work elevate his emotional force to new heights.
