Clouds: New Music for Relaxation
Craig Kupka

Clouds: New Music for Relaxation is a 1981 Folkways release produced by Craig Kupka that is meant to induce relaxation. According to the album cover, the music uses only tonalities and intervals that “produce a non-stressful response in the body so that the individual is freed and, in fact, guided, into quiet introspective reflection,” as well as instruments whose overtone structure “resonates evenly with the human body and produces a calming effect.” Liner notes provide thumbnail biographies of all the musicians, and ideas for use (yoga class and driving on the freeway are among the suggestions).
