Hanunóo Music from the Philippines
Various Artists

This album features music of the Hanunóo people who live in Mindoro, the seventh largest island in the Philippines. Hanunóo society relies heavily on agriculture, cloth weaving, and iron working. Music is used during these daily activities as well as during courtship and spiritual rituals. Hear the sounds of the gitgit (a three-stringed fiddle), kinaban (bamboo harp), and pahagut-style poetry.
