Calypso Rock Songs of Jamaica

“I didn’t go to a Music School, it’s just an in-born talent. I experience and learnt the hardest way,” says Jamaican vocalist Horace Johnson. You’ll recognize Belafonte’s “Island in the Sun” and “Yellow Bird” and Mighty Sparrow’s “Love in the Cemetery” alongside originals like “Education” and “The Donkey Want Water.” Overall, the smooth tones and unique timings of Johnson’s vocals reveal that he has learned well the genre he calls “calypso rock.”
