Furthermore…

Larry Kaplan's third album, Furthermore..., is another collection of original songs by the New England songwriter. While many are personal stories of Kaplan's life, others are inspired by old sailing logs, musings on the life of Francis James Child (the folklorist responsible for collecting the Child Ballads), and other disparate, curious sources. Sung in a gentle and pensive style, Kaplan's performance is inviting, bringing the listener into the colorful, often introspective world of his songwriting. Kaplan accompanies himself on guitar and banjo, and is further supported with vocal harmonies, flute, fiddle, piano, harmonium, and cello on this warm collection of recordings.
