The World of Asian American Experiences, Since 1965

A continuation of Lesson 2, this lesson examines how events since 1965 have changed the demographics and structure of Asian American communities. After learning about the Hart-Cellar Act of 1965 and the impact of various refugee resettlement initiatives, students will turn their attention to the real-life stories of Asian American musicians, such as Smithsonian Folkways recording artists Sunny Jain and Wu Fei.
