De Una Bonita

Los Cenzontles “both honors and upends traditional Mexican music, tapping deep roots as it flowers into something completely new, and distinctly American.” – New York Times
Los Cenzontles (The Mockingbirds) is a San Francisco Bay area–based band of young musicians from immigrant and working-class neighborhoods. Between 1997 and 2000, the band recorded five CDs of traditional and popular music and dance of Mexico. Their repertoire includes mariachi, son jarocho, banda Sinaloense, tropical, religious alabanza, and contemporary ballads. This collection draws from the five CDs, presenting Los Cenzontles at their best.
