Singer-musicians Harley Allen (guitar and mandolin) and Mike Lilly (banjo) team up with a baker’s dozen of bluegrass renditions of traditional and contemporary songs. Harley Allen is the son of bluegrass pioneer Red Allen (who produced this recording). The duo is supported with mandolin, fiddle, and electric bass. All of the songs are performed in the traditional bluegrass style, including Bob Dylan’s classic “It Ain’t Me Babe.” Liner notes from this 1985 recording include the album track list, performing and songwriting credits, and a brief biography of the main duo.
