The Feenjon Goes Greek

New York’s City’s Café Feenjon was known for its Mediterranean (Greek, Arab, and Israeli) music from the 1970s to the mid-1980s. On this recording, the Feenjon Group, the café’s house band, gathered for a night of Greek music. Musicians Anestos “Gyftos” Athanasiou, Menachem Dworman (the café’s owner), Hevron Levi, Jerry Sappir, Tassos Tsakalakis, and Jimmy Linardos perform a mix of original songs and popular Greek songs. The liner notes contain the Greek lyrics to the songs.
