Joe Mullins - Sites of Ohio's Musical Legacy: Armco Steel [Behind The Scenes Documentary]
Watch the third in a series of videos with Joe Mullins discussing the influential sites of the story behind ‘Industrial Strength Bluegrass: Southwestern Ohio’s Musical Legacy,’ released March 26th on Smithsonian Folkways. Mullins grew up in Middletown, Ohio, and recalls the story of Tom T. Hall’s visit to write "The Rolling Mills of Middletown" for the American Rolling Mill Company (Armco, now known as AK Steel). This 1972 song is performed by singer-songwriter Larry Cordle on the new album.
