15 Down Home Gospel Classics

Gospel music in America can be traced to the 18th century, with roots in the black oral tradition, and is composed and performed for aesthetic pleasure, religious or ceremonial purposes, and as entertainment. This collection includes musicians associated with African American gospel music as well as musicians associated with the blues; artists include the Reverend Louis Overstreet, the Campbell Brothers, and Fred McDowell with Johnny Woods and with Annie Mae.
