Virtuoso of the Irish Accordion: Original Recordings 1906-1928

John Kimmel
Virtuoso of the Irish Accordion: Original Recordings 1906-1928
One of the first to record the diatonic melodeon, John Kimmel's influence on Irish traditional music continues today through the playing of Jackie Daly, Joe Burke, and others. Kimmel's wide repertoire also includes pop tunes and German waltzes, and this collection presents some of his earliest and rarest recordings, including an unparalleled rendition of "Fitzmaurice's Polka."
