You Can Sing It Yourself

With laughter and enthusiasm, singer and schoolteacher Robin Christensen is joined by children in summer camp singing 18 familiar songs such as “Pick a Bale of Cotton,” “Children, Go Where I Send Thee,” “Sloop John B,” and “Kumbaya.” This recording and its companion (You Can Sing It Yourself, Volume 2, FW07625) were the result of an exercise in music education conducted at the Harvard-Newton Summer Program from 1958 through 1960. The liner notes were written by Alan Buechner, an assistant professor of music education at Harvard University.
