$35 and a Dream

Rose Maddox
$35 and a Dream
Rose Maddox began singing professionally in 1937 at age eleven with her brothers in the Maddox Brothers band. This 1994 recording finds Rose fully recovered from her 1988 near-fatal heart attack. Backed by a solid band including Herb Pederson on guitar and Byron Berline on fiddle, Rose performs old favorites (“Fried Potatoes” and “Blue Ridge Mountain Blues”) and new songs (“$35 and a Dream” and “Dusty Memories”) in her characteristic style.
