Pass Me Not

Steel guitars are not normally associated with the playing of sacred and gospel music. At The House of God, Keith Dominion, in Nashville, Tennessee, though, the steel guitar is an essential element in enabling the congregation to feel the Spirit. The Campbell brothers—Charles (Chuck) on steel guitar and Phil on electric guitar and bass—were born into the African American Holiness-Pentecostal musical tradition. Accomplished musicians in several musical genres, the brothers are all business when playing in church. Chuck says his purpose is to “move the service” by encouraging the congregation to become filled with the Holy Spirit. In this recording, the brothers are joined by gospel singer Katie Jackson.
