The Galliards

The English folk music group the Galliards, comprised of Robin Hall, Jimmie MacGregor, Shirley Bland, and Leon Rosselson, present an array of folk songs in English, Gaelic (“Birlinn Ghoraidh Chrobhain”), French (“Derriere Chez Nous”), and Hebrew (“Hinei Ma Tov”). The group began collaborating in the late 1950s and continued performing together through the mid–1960s. With strong vocal harmonies and a variety of acoustic instruments, the ensemble has a full and upbeat sound. The liner notes include a brief biography of each member and background information on the songs.
