Pete Reiniger worked in multiple roles on over 200 releases between 1995 and 2022 while at Smithsonian Folkways. The work he leaves behind is truly remarkable, contributing in many areas beyond his legendary skills as an audio engineer - including as photographer, producer, compiler, liner notes writer and more. In addition to his work on new releases for Smithsonian Folkways detailed below, Pete led the audio digitization effort that resulted in thousands of other archival titles, including from Folkways Records, being made available digitally for the first time. His work will thus be heard for many years to come.
